css – “Plate” theme broken after update

I just did a wordpress update for a friend, and a small display error happened ruining everything. I managed to track it down but I don’t know how to fix it. The subject is plate but I can’t manage to contact them.

We used the “featured image” function on several pages, including the home page, and I also created a test page: https://www.sofiaelkhyari.com/

test

There should be a full height hero, but when the page loads we can see it scrolling down and disappearing. A javascript function is automatically specifying 2 css classes as if we had already scrolled down.

<body data-rsssl="1" class="home page-template-default page page-id-1486 wpspd-menu-overlay wpspd-no-touch wpspd-hero-not-visible wpspd-document-ready wpspd-hero-loaded wpspd-dark-hero wpspd-sticky-menu-active">

I feel wpspd-hero-not-visible And this wpspd-sticky-menu-active causing trouble. I found an app.js with a parallax function applying them, but I don’t understand why it suddenly goes wrong. When i’m connected as admin i can see the page perfectly, maybe adminbar modify something? The desired behavior is for the homepage to look like this image

The image is actually a short animation from a video embed. This can be seen if you replace it <body> class with home page-template-default page page-id-1486 logged-in admin-bar wpspd-menu-overlay customize-support wpspd-no-touch wpspd-document-ready wpspd-hero-loaded wpspd-dark-hero wpspd-hero-visible But it breaks as soon as you start scrolling. When I’m connected as an administrator, all the code works perfectly, which is the weirdest part.

I’m not very good at it and don’t use stackoverflow often, I was just helping a friend with my limited knowledge. thanks in advance for your help
