Spring in Moab varies greatly from month to month. When visiting Moab in the spring, it’s important to pack for all types of weather because you never know when the weather is going to change.
It is not uncommon to have rain or even snowfall in March. We recommend that you watch the weather and pack a winter coat, winter hat, and winter gloves when traveling to Moab in early spring. A fleece jacket, hat and gloves should suffice later in the spring.
In the spring, Faux Falls runs at full speed! It’s a fun stop and a great place to photograph a waterfall in the desert.

Summer weather in Moab
When planning your trip to Moab in the summer, expect HOT temperatures! Since the temperatures are brutal at this time of year, plan your outdoor activities for the cooler mornings and evenings!
With the hot summer temperatures, you’ll want to protect yourself from the sun by wearing a sun hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. It is important to stay hydrated and carry a hydration pack or refillable water bottle in your backpack. You should also eat healthy salty snacks!

The weather in Moab in the fall starts to cool down, making it a great time to explore the park as it will be cooler in the morning and evening, and daytime temperatures aren’t too hot compared to summer. .
With the cooler temperatures at night, you will definitely want to bring a fleece jacket, warm hat and gloves for the nights and early mornings.
Fall is a great time to explore the Moab area on a sunny day when the air isn’t stuffy! This is the perfect time to explore the region’s hiking trails. The fall months are still busy, so hit the trails in the morning or late afternoon.
Winter weather in Moab
Temperatures really drop in Moab in the winter, so it’s the least busy season. The colder weather doesn’t bother us to enjoy outdoor activities, which makes winter the best time for us to visit to escape the crowds!
BUT cold winter weather may not be for everyone.
During the winter, it is especially important to dress in layers. We recommend a lined winter jacket, a fleece jacket, a warm hat and gloves if you do outdoor activities.
