Where to host your applications/websites for free🤑

In this post, we will look at some of the top places and some paid places to host your application or website for free.

Disclaimer: BaaS providers are not mentioned here in any order. they all have their positives and negatives

Versailles

Supported by the creators of the Next.js framework. This is one of the best places to host your Jamstack application

They have a generous free tier which is good enough for most hobby projects

netlify

Netlify is a remote-first cloud computing company that provides a development platform that includes building, deploying, and serverless backend services for web applications and dynamic websites.

google app engine

Google App Engine is a cloud computing platform as a service for developing and hosting web applications in data centers managed by Google. Applications are in sandbox and run on multiple servers

heroku

Herokuis is a cloud platform as a service supporting multiple programming languages. One of the first cloud platforms, Heroku has been in development since June 2007, when it supported only the Ruby programming language, but now supports Java, Node.JS, Scala, Clojure, Python, PHP and Go.

Rails is an infrastructure platform where you can provision infrastructure, develop locally with that infrastructure and then deploy it to the cloud. This is one of my personal favorites as they offer $5 free credits every month to use on their platform
